Jobs

Junior/Middleweight/Senior – we’re looking at all levels for ‘the chosen one’ to join our team.

We work with the biggest toy companies in the world; Lego, Hasbro, Vivid Imaginations… to create toys that not only delight and engage kids across the globe, but which also make our jobs the most fun a designer can have outside of Tony Starks workshop.

We’ve got a great studio in the center of Leamington Spa, and have all the gadgets and gizmos you need to create great designs.

If you think you’re a good fit to play at the highest levels of the toy industry, with a team that’s world class, then check out our vacancies and get in touch.

Send us your C.V, Portfolio and tell us why you’re the chosen one.

JUNIOR DESIGNER

Designbytouch are looking for a Junior Designer (Graduate), who is ready (and talented enough) to immerse themselves in the world of toy design.

Working alongside our team of Toy designers, you will develop and utilize your skills to ideate, explore, develop and communicate new toy concepts for our clients. You will also work on in-house Toy Invention initiatives, which will be pitched to toy companies across the world.

Playing within our toybox of rapid-prototyping machines and fully equipped workshop (not to mention Table Football and Table Tennis), you will contribute and take ownership of ideas which will be fully realized and presented to the highest levels.

Designbytouch is located in the center of Royal Leamington Spa. With an abundance of historic attractions (and pubs), as well as being a hotspot of creative companies for both the automotive and computer games industries, Leamington has earned itself the nickname of ‘Silicon Spa’.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design related subject.
  • Prior experience at internship is valued but not essential.

 Skills:

  • A good level of sketching communication is essential.
  • Knowledge of a CAD package is desirable, ideally RHINO, SOLIDWORKS, MODO, or ZBRUSH.
  • Knowledge of ADOBE software.
  • Experience working in teams, particular during brainstorms and ideation workshops.
  • An interest in how things work…a ‘tinkerer’s mindset’.
  • A love of toys, and in particular an interest of ‘working’ with LEGO.

MIDDLEWEIGHT/SENIOR DESIGNER

Designbytouch are looking for Middleweight and Senior Designers who are at the top of their game and want to work in a consultancy that will recognize, utilize and develop their skillsets further. We work in a fun environment, but take our work seriously – and know that our designers share our passion.

We’re looking for someone who plays well in a team, and can lead that team with a clear vision when required. It goes without saying that candidates should have superb design and communication skills, and they should be able to apply these to Toy and Game specific projects, which will display world class execution.

Within our spacious studio, you will have at your disposal: rapid-prototyping machines and a fully equipped workshop (not to mention Table Football and Table Tennis), high-end hardware coupled with the latest software, and last but not least a comprehensive LEGO building area – all of which will be used to create fresh exciting concepts and prototypes for our clients and internal inventions.

Depending on experience you will take ownership and creative lead of projects, and will be responsible for their execution and timely delivery. Projects vary from quick turn-around concepts, to long-term client briefs.

On a day-to-day basis you will contribute to company culture and team morale, and will play a significant part within the Designbytouch team.
